About me

Making handmade lampwork glass beads and glass jewellery, handmade glasswork is my passion and here’s the story…

I attended lampwork bead making classes at Kurshuni to add something color to my stressful professional life in 2003.

After retirement in 2005, my husband set up a studio in our new home in our new hometown. I started making handmade glass beads and jewellery. I believe getting involved with handmade glasswork was one of the best choices that I’ve made!

As it’s almost impossible to sell handmade supplies in Turkey I started making jewelry with my beads. It did not occur to me that I could sell my beads on line then!

As I live in a small town I search for new materials, new techniques, new supplies for making beads and jewelry on internet. As the time passed I got interested in ” wiring ” techniques, I learned where to buy pure silver granules, where to get them melted and where to get them pulled into wires. Bought books to learn various technigues for wiring and began to do my findings and sterling silver cages for my beads…

Then I got interested in enamel jewelry, searched everywhere on internet but could not find enameled or patinaed supplies for my jewelleries or I did not like the ones I found. So I decided to try it myself the way I like them. Soon I discovered that making the enamel pieces and the glass beads on the same torch gave me a very big advantage of matching the colors in a unique way.

My son is a ceramist. He showed me how to make ceramic beads and how to glaze them, and of course I decided to try something new and get some glass on torch involved in it too…

It was one leading to another for me… I wish I had started getting busy with art in earlier days of my life, but I don’t know if I would appreciate it as much as I do now, it is very hard for most of the artists to live with the money they make with their art!

I have two sons that I’m proud of. I live with my helpful and resourceful husband, my cat and my dog at home which is surrounded by a Mediterranian garden full of roses and fruit trees. We live on a peninsula on the far south west of Turkey which faces Mediterranean sea on one side, and faces the Eagian sea on the other side, very beautiful.

Wish to see you around here, please drop by if you come near…
